Yes, I slacked off a little in December.  I hope you all did too!

I think it’s been a month since I practiced my kettlebell snatch and here’s what I did to ease back into it:

12kg Snatch – 10R, 10L
16kg Snatch – 9R, 9L
12kg Snatch – 8R, 8L
16kg Snatch – 7R, 7L

12kg Snatch – 6R, 6L
16kg Snatch – 5R, 5L
12kg Snatch – 4R, 4L
16kg Snatch – 3R, 3L
12kg Snatch – 2R, 2L
16kg Snatch – 1R, 1L
12kg Snatch – 2R, 2L
16kg Snatch – 3R, 3L
12kg Snatch – 4R, 4L
16kg Snatch – 5R, 5L
12kg Snatch – 6R, 6L
16kg Snatch – 7R, 7L
12kg Snatch – 8R, 8L
16kg Snatch – 9R, 9L
12kg Snatch – 10R, 10L

Total: 120 Snatch w/12kg + 98 Snatches w/16kg

After adding it up, had I known I was at 98 snatches, I would’ve done 2 more =)

It was a good workout to:
1) Ease myself back into kettlebell snatching in general, also ease myself back into using the 16kg
2) Give me the confidence, and “rest” with the 12kg to be ready for my 16kg rounds
3) Be kind to my hands after being away from snatching for a bit

If you’ve taken some time away from your snatch practice, feel free to use my little routine.  Took me about 15 minutes.

Not killer but tough.

For those of you who know kettlebells, a kettlebell trainer, or the RKC, you know that passing the 5-minute snatch test is something we all have to do to be certified. We all try to stay semi-snatch-test ready at all times, so taking a month away from any type of snatching is a fairly big deal for me.

January has me back at it though. How about you?
